Teatro en Inglés "Penalty"

Los alumnos de 2º ESO han asistido a una obra de teatro de inglés en el salón de actos del colegio. La obra titulada “ Penalty” se adaptó para que una sola actriz representara varios personajes. 

La protagonista de “Penalty “ es  Teri , una adolescente de 16 años muy buena estudiante y que juega muy bien al fútbol.

El sueño de Teri es jugar fútbol profesional pero el equipo del colegio es un equipo de chicos. Teri encuentra la oposición de muchas personas incluido su propio padre, algunos compañeros del colegio e incluso profesores de educación física y entrenadores. 

Gracias a su valía, a su tesón y a que no cesa de  perseguir su sueño consigue hacer una prueba en el equipo Manchester United en la categoría de menores de 18 años. 

Por fin  la señora Edwards,  manager del Manchester le da la oportunidad de demostrar que es muy buena y logra cumplir su ilusión y anhelo de ser una jugadora profesional.

Al finalizar la obra la actriz ha hecho diversos juegos de rol con los alumnos que han participado activamente en los mismos; también han hecho un pequeño debate sobre la igualdad de oportunidades para los chicas y los chicos.

“Penalty!” This is the story of Teri, a Spanish schoolgirl whose ambition is to play professional football with boys. Despite the opposition she encounters from her father and from some of her school friends, Teri is determined to fulfil her dream, and so goes to the big city to try out for a boys’ team there.

One- woman show designed to be performed in the classrooms of schools . The actress expertly switches between the younger and older Teri as well as skillfully recreating other characters in the story: Miss Adams, her teacher; Noemi, a classmate; Mr. Clarke, the PE teacher; Mr. Dunn; and Mrs Edwards, the Manchester United Under 18s’ manager.

Immediately after the performance, the actress involved the students in activities based on the show, “who is who “ imitating the characters, questions about the play, about the story real or not, the characters etc.

The activity finished with a debate about equal opportunities in life for girls and boys.
